Letting my guard down and being vulnerable is a big risk. It usually doesn’t feel that great, unless I’m in the habit of it. However, it is in these vulnerable moments that creativity can freely flow in me. And that is a big win!

Creative Affirmation

I allow myself to be vulnerable to let my creativity flow.

Being vulnerable does not come naturally to most of us. I know I would rather put on a brave face and attempt to manage things than ask for help. Admittedly this is something I’m working on, as I know asking for help is a strength, not a weakness.

It’s the moments when I allow myself to be vulnerable and create from the heart that I find the epic creative flow. Most recently I spent a weekend sewing with friends, and worked through improv prompts with Sherri Lynn Wood. I had the best time not thinking, planning, and prepping, but in allowing the process to flow. It was a lot of fun to let go of my usual processes, be vulnerable, and just sew alongside everyone in the class.

This affirmation goes along well with taking creative risks. Being open to exploring without self-judgment is a great way to find the creative flow and really fun too!
