During the fall months, I always feel an extra draw to my sewing machine and a quilting project. This year has been very different, but the call of my sewing machine is the same! This pattern is great for a few reasons, and no matter how hectic your days seem to be, I hope you will take the time to sew with me.
The Color Shift Quilt Along is gearing up to begin in the next few weeks, and I’d love for you to sew along with me.
Color Shift Quilt Along
The pattern includes four sizes, and to make it different sizes doesn’t mean more blocks! I’ve scaled the blocks so that you have the same visual impact no matter what size you decide to make. Baby, throw, twin, and king sizes are all included and easy to make.
You can start the quilt-along anytime, I will send you information about getting started and where to find all the video instruction that you will need to begin.
In the videos, I plan to share the fabric selection process, simple cutting and piecing strategies that any quilter can use, and quilting plans.
It’s really a fun pattern to sew up and I hope that you’ll join me!

I bought this pattern and fabric but haven’t started it yet. I read the instructions and pondered if this could be tackled by creating strip sets, then cutting them into rectangles?
I’m not terribly skilled so am afraid to launch off on this idea. Ha!
Laurie, it is possible, but not for all the sizes included in the pattern. And since it’s just a few seams per block, I wasn’t that bothered by cutting and sewing the individual pieces.
