This series of blocks has been my constant this year – Modern Quilt Block Series – started out as a way to offer inspiration. However, it has become a huge source of inspiration for myself too! It has been a great thing for me to focus on with so much uncertainty in every day. I hope you are well and want to share more about this fun project with you!

Modern Quilt Block Series

I love simple quilts. In my creative space, my mantra is – simple quilts are beautiful when made with love. While not all of my quilts are simple, they are always made with love. And the majority of my patterns are simple because I want to encourage quilters to finish more projects than they start. I know this is not always a possibility due to time constraints or plans changing when life happens. But that is always at the top of mind when designing quilts. With the series, I’ve introduced a set of interchangeable blocks to make an endless variety of quilts.

Some of the blocks are just a few pieces, and others have more details included. By mixing and matching the blocks each maker is able to design their own unique creation. Helping you create the quilt that you want to make always gets me excited! I love seeing creativity unlocked in quilters.

Getting Started

Each week since mid-January I have released a new block. There are now 37 blocks that are the same size and have dynamic results when made into a quilt top. The blocks also have a video tutorial to walk even the newest quilter through the construction of the block. In these videos, I also share my tips, for best results, and quick results too! Making them great for quilters of all experience levels. You never know what tip will give you that moment of clarity!

Also included in each video, are some layout ideas for how you might use the blocks together. This is often my favorite part, I love seeing the dynamic results when two different blocks are combined.

I should also tell you that the week I introduce the block it is FREE in my shop! I’ve had friends following along and collecting block patterns week to week and it is so fun to see their reactions to the different combinations. To get an email about the block each week you can add your name to the list here.

If you haven’t seen the blocks yet, I hope you will take a few minutes to explore and be inspired. You can see all the blocks in my shop, and be sure to check out the Complete Collection, at a discounted price too!

Happy quilting –
