I was asked to remake Turnstyle recently to showcase the Viva Mexico fabric collection by Dear Stella. This bold fabric collection was so fun to sew with!

Turnstyle

My Turnstyle pattern is a large 18″ blocks, with each block using one fat quarter. The periwinkle background fabric adds fun contrast to the bright prints.

To quilt it, I ended up with my current favorite quilting – called Windowpanes. I didn’t want anything too angular, but also not very curvy. This random quilting pattern adds texture to the quilt that I love.

Pieced and quilted by me on my lovely Baby Lock machines. Finishing at 62″ square it’s a great size for a couch throw or lap quilt. The thing I love most about this pattern, is that it makes use of the fat quarters we all seem to collect!

I’ve made Turnstyle twice before if you would like to see those samples:

Remaking a pattern is always a treat! I look forward to the next adventure –
