I’m so happy to finally have images of my finished Ripple Effect quilt! This quilt has been in process for over a year, and I loved working on it so much. Before working full time again, I often would finish a quilt in a month or less, but I was grateful for the project to work on over the weekends, and occasionally late at night too!
The Ripple Effect pattern was designed with large and extra-large blocks. I love playing with scale and adding drama with the piecing. When deciding on my sample quilt, I chose to make the queen-size option because it incorporates both block sizes into one large quilt.
I love the idea of one small change in our lives making a ripple of change throughout our lives and the lives of those around us. This quilt is my geometric representation of the Ripple Effect.
To quilt this one I added random angles and no curves on purpose. Even though it is very blocky, I thought that curves might take away from the overall feel of the quilt. As always, quilting is a personal preference, but I like to explain my process just in case you are curious.
For the color palette, I selected colors that I love working with to begin, then added in the needed compliments. The acid green and fuchsia pink are always winners in my quilts!
The Ripple Effect Pattern includes lap, throw, and queen sizes, each with its own cutting list. Are you inspired to get started yet? I would love to know your go-to colors or prints!
More soon!

Amy you did good! Love the backgrounds you chose for your photos. It really does feel good to have it finished and photos taken.
Thank you Rita!
I love this pattern. I gave up quilting about five years ago, but I still get everybody’s emails. Today yours is the first one. I’ve looked at in quite some time. And you inspired me. But I don’t have anything left. I probably had $20,000 in fabric and tools and sewing machines and. But I just wanted to let you know you have inspired. Me
