Earlier this month I was ready and excited to write this post…until I realized that I had made the wrong blocks for the month. Now I’m a month ahead AND all caught up!

If you haven’t seen the Bella Skill Builder yet, it’s a fun sampler quilt with a variety of techniques and tools used for the different blocks – I have enjoyed trying out a few new to me techniques even. Click HERE to download this months pattern and see the video tutorial too!

Month 5

Last month we made lots of HST units, with the triangles on a roll tool. (I made these on time but they didn’t get posted here, only on IG) I really appreciated the precision of the triangles on a roll, and you can see, all of my points are pretty perfect!

This month we made log cabin blocks. I love a simple log cabin, and these use the 6″ Log Cabin Trim Tool, to keep the lines nice and tide while piecing.

This little ruler has lots of log cabin options built in, so it’s not just the one you see here. I always like a multipurpose ruler, and this one is easy to use. Cutting the strips slightly wider than usual, you then trim your block to square between each round, ensuring that your finished block is nice and square! Perfect blocks are always a welcome sight!

I hope you are stitching something fun today!
