Taking the time to play and imagine is often very beneficial! Some of my favorite projects have come about from very silly beginnings. When I let go of the rules and let my mind wander the magic can begin. When did you last follow the silly train of thought to see where it ended? Our imaginations are powerful and letting them run away now and then can be fun.

Creative Affirmation

Anything I can imagine, I can create.

I love seeing color create movement in quilts. This can be a very simple process for some, and grueling for others. With my Color Shift Quilt Pattern, I envisioned a simple pattern where a quilter could hone their color skills. Knowing that not everyone is confident working with color this felt like a fun way to explore. And the pattern scales up and down to make different sizes, instead of making more blocks like we often do. Imagine your own color gradient with prints or solids, is it your favorite color? Or a favorite of someone close to you?

Starting with a simple imagination exploration can be a lot of fun, and very helpful for the creative process – I highly recommend it!

I hope you follow the imagination thread this week – let it guide you!
