Being fearless in my creative endeavors, means experimenting and without judgment. And letting the process be full of curiosity and grace for the outcomes, opens me up for even more creativity. Win-win!

Creative Affirmation

I persue creativity without fear.

When trying something new, being fearless, being unstoppable, and letting the creativity flow is the ultimate goal. Not having judgement about the fabric selections, or the matching of seams and just allowing yourself to explore is so fun! When we let go of the perfectionistic tendancies and just relax with it, creativity can flow freely.

In making my Dart quilt in the photos, I mixed and matched bold patterned fabrics. Giving a place for the white and black prints I had been collecting but not using in projects. Adding the other low-volume prints in the background sections let the bold pattern be broken up a bit and not overwhelm the quilt. But until I decided to try I didn’t know how well it was going to work out!

Another place I love to be fearless is in improv piecing. Exploring and experimenting just for the fun of it – brings so much fun to my sewing space. If you haven’t joined me yet on Youtube – I have a improv project happening right now, Summer of Improv is a table runner project to give you a taste of improv without overwhelm.
