I’m traveling this week, and wanted to share 10 sewing tools to pack for a week away. I’m visiting my parents and my mom has a sewing machine, so that wasn’t needed. I did add all the essentials to my suitcase though. Let’s take a look!

10+ Sewing Tools to Pack

My dad recently had a pretty major surgery, so I wanted to spend a week helping with his recovery. But I knew there would be downtime to myself too. I pulled together a small bag for my suitcase that I could sew from with already cut fabric for a current project. It’s been a great visit, with lots of healing naps for dad.

Along with my project, my must have tools include:

  1. Superior Topstitching needles
  2. Extra Fine pins
  3. Frixion Pen
  4. Aurifil thread
  5. Universal bobbin
  6. Seam Fix – seam ripper
  7. Small Scissors
  8. Folding Cutting Mat (not pictured)
  9. Rotary Cutter (not pictured)
  10. 6 1/2″  Rotary Ruler (not pictured)
  11. All inside a project bag (not pictured)

Packing my essential tools to go with me allows any sewing machine to be ready to stitch. These are all pretty lightweight, and easy to pack in a suitcase. Don’t try to carry on the rotary cutter, or scissors with more than 4″ of blade.

Do you have a trip planned? Where are you headed? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Happy quilting –

Amy
