Heartland Heritage — November

In the month of November for the Heartland Heritage pattern we are making the Tulip block. This is one of my favorite blocks in the entire quilt! I love the little details, and how unique each flower is in the quilt.

Heartland Heritage Tulip Block for November

Tulip

This adorable block, has some small squares but we strip pieced them. Be sure to double check your 1/4″ seam allowance before strip piecing. All the seams can eat up a good amount of fabric as you sew.

I love the details in the seams, just as much as the finished block! The pressing directions in the pattern definitely make the process smoother for me. When trimming the flower unit, be sure to keep enough seam allowance. And if your bias unit isn’t quite long enough, pin and sew with the longer piece of fabric down.

We’d love to see your Tulip blocks over on the Inspiring Stitches blog! Each month we have a link collector set up to showcase your blocks, it’s so fun to see everyone’s fabric choices!
