Nancy Zieman – The Rest of the Story — Review & Giveaway

Nancy’s autobiography – Seams Unlikely, is a fantastic recount of Nancy’s career. I’ve recommended the book to friends and family many times since reading it myself. When asked to share Rich’s account of the few years since, I was honored. Nancy continues to be an inspiration to me, and I’m happy to share Nancy Zieman – The Rest of the Story with you today.

Nancy Zieman – The Rest of the Story

This quick read is full of family moments, special and important to Nancy as a mom and grandma. Along with examples of Nancy’s grace and humility in any situation that she faced. Rich included his own journal entries from Nancy’s last few months, and letters/emails that Nancy had written to friends and co-workers.

The book is full of images of Nancy, with family and friends. Highlights from her last few years with Rich, traveling for fun and not just work. Sweet photos of her grand-daughters and sons. Along with many people that she worked with throughout the years.

The Rest of the Story offers insight into Nancy’s faith, which was so very important to her. And a stunning example of how she approached her unique challenges with grace.

Thank you to Rich for sharing this intimate look into your lives.

I have a copy of Nancy Zieman – The Rest of the Story to share with one of you! Enter to win, by commenting below. I will select a winner on Friday, October 19th.

Good Luck –

Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway for the new book Nancy Zieman – The Rest of the Story. I read Nancy’s first book Seams Unlikely and really enjoyed it. I live in Southeast Wisconsin and Nancy has always been a large part of my creative life. From her PBS show to her shop in Beaver Dam. I just ordered a kit from Nancy’s Notions catalog and it made me smile that she had made plans years ago for her company and the brand she created to continue far into the future.

Nancy’s sewing program was one of the highlights of my week when we first moved to Fort Worth 25 years ago and I had not yet made friends. She made me think I was able to take her hints and.suggestions and make myself a lovely yet wearable wardrobe. She was my inspiration.
Years later when I learned more about Nancy, she remains my inspiration a s a loving, caring, Christan wife, mothe4, teacher. I miss her.

Thank you for the chance to win a copy of Nancy’s book! I started watching her program on Prairie Public TV when my grand daughter was a baby, It was time for her bottle so I sat down in my recliner with our grand daughter fed her and rocked her to sleep and then I got to watch the program. It was my favorite time!! DiAnn

name since she ordered so much from her catalog. I got the chance to meet Nancy at her quilt expo in WI two years ago.
I took a picture with her for my Mom. She was so sweet & kind.

    Dear Amy;
Thank you for not only extending this offer but allowing us, who looked up to Nancy, respected her many gifts and have been inspired by her in many ways, the opportunity to receive such a commemorative! Although following her for many years, I never knew the background story of her life & business. I purchased her book after my daughter suffered twice from episodes of Bell’s Palsy in the hope of gaining some insite to what we feared might be a permanent condition with her as well-Nancy was brought to mind. I couldn’t put it down and have since passed it on to others who also needed that same inspiration.
Should I be selected as your recipient; this would be a gift I would truly treasure.
    Sincerely; Shelley

I continue to watch Nancy’s show at 6am every Tuesday morning on PBS. She is a lovely person to wake up to. Her shows are always so instructional especially on quilting which is my passion. This past Tuesday the show was about teaching kids to sew and much of the show featured Nancy and her granddaughters. It was so poignant and lovely to watch. I hope her husband and family know what a legacy she leaves behind for all of us that love fabric and all that we can create with it. She showed us the way!!

Nancy’s store in Beaver Dam was a joy to shop in. I could spend hours there. I also loved to take classes there. I always wished I lived closer so I could work there.

I read all of the above comments and am envious of all of the fortunate people who were able to watch Nancy’s TV show for decades! We did not have access to PBS until recently so I would love to learn more about Nancy’s life and faith. Thank you for the chance to win.

I’ve enjoyed and learned so much from this lovely lady, as has my daughter. Saturday mornings with Nancy show on Tv. My daughter and I were given amazing opportunity to meet Nancy on here last time at the Madison Quilt Expo. Memory I will never forget, and a wonderful photo wit my daughter Nancy and myself.

Nancy was inspirational, and her death was a real loss to the sewing & quilting world. Her legacy should live on for a long time, however, to inspire future sewists.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of her story, I took a class from her long before she was “Sewing with Nancy” — even then she was a terrific teacher.

Nancy was a great teacher. My aunts and mother watched her every Saturday, and passed it on to me. I still watch her show online when I need some help.

I always working with Nancy’s patterns, be it techniques for clothing sewing or quilting. She was truly an inspirational person and it seemed like she was the friendly neighbour, next door.

Who wouldn’t love to have a copy of that book! The biggest point is we all miss Nancy, there is so much to be said of how I was devastated and I’m sure many of us were when we found out she was gone and there would be no more tutorials, TV programs or anyting from our beloved Nancy Z. I have been sewing for a long time, however even though I never met our love Nancy, I felt such a kindred, and as the saying goes, never wait until it’s too late, I wanted to meet her! So I still want her book and this book you’re giving away. I need to buy them if I have to. Thank you for the opportunity for letting me voice this. Love and respect to Nancy and Richard Z.

As a young mom myself in the early eighties I started watching Sewing With Nancy, on Wednesday afternoons in my area, and Nancy opened a whole new world of sewing ideas and notions to me. She made it faster and easier for me to make clothing for my children, gifts for everyone on my list and decorate my home. This Wednesday afternoon habit of mine was not to the liking of my children who wanted to watch cartoons instead, but they persevered and now my daughter and grand daughters now love to sew too. It all comes back around! Thank you, Nancy, until next time…
