One of my goals for the long weekend was to get my Think Big Quilt-Along quilt quilted, and I did it! I had been waiting on a large piece of backing fabric earlier in the week and was so glad when it arrived on Friday. I loaded it late on Saturday, after spending some time on the couch with a little cold. And tried to decide which way to quilt it. I pulled up a few designs that I thought would be quick, and not detract from the piecing.

I ended up asking for help, since my head was a bit foggy still, and a large majority agreed with my first instinct, which is the design in the center. It’s called “Mango Chain” by Darlene Epp for those interested.

Since my quilt is 90″ square, I enlarged the design slightly so that it fit the scale of the top and the large 18″ blocks. The photo above is the first few lines of quilting on the long arm.

Much later that night, I had finished, and pulled it of the rollers.

The quilt is so large it’s hard to get a decent flat shot.

Overall, I’m really happy with the results, and ready to finish it up with a binding!
