When asked by magazine editors and marketing gurus, if I would like to be a part of a quilt-along, the obvious answer is – yes! And thank you for the invite!
This is the first ever quilt-along hosted by American Patchwork & Quilting! The project is in the February issue, which is shipping to subscribers now, and will be on newsstands the first week of December.
Tone It Down, is by Lissa Alexander and quilted by my friend Natalia Bonner, isn’t it beautiful?

Finished Size : 75 ½” x 93 ½”
Block Size : 15″ x 15″
I love the scrappy-ness of the fabrics, and how cheerful it is! Everyone is welcome to quilt-along with us, there’s a group of blogger’s sharing tips and tricks as we each sew our own inspired versions. I hope you will join us and pull your own favorite fabrics to sew with! I wanted this quilt to have a recipient, and my father-in-law has hinted about wanting his own quilt, so I have pulled grey and navy fabrics for a masculine, scrappy version.
Writing Modern Neutrals, I collected a pile of neutral fabrics, and they seem to be my weakness now! Adding in the bit of navy will keep things interesting too – let me know what you think in the comments.
To join in, start pulling fabrics! I will be sewing a little more on this next month, and share my tips with you as I go! Right now, I’m pushing through the last of my projects for my next book, and if you read closely there’s a hint of what else I’ve been up to lately here. :)
The quilt-along is hosted by ModaLissa and Jennifer Keltner.
And these are the lovely ladies that are also sharing their process –
Anne Sutton of Bunny Hill Designs
Jane Davidson of Quilt Jane
Kimberly Jolly of The Jolly Jabber
Lisa Bongean of Primitive Gatherings
Camille Roskelley of Thimble Blossoms
Sherri McConnell of A Quilting Life
