Hi friends! I’m excited to introduce my next fabric line with Moda — Wanderlust!
This line is inspired by traditional Henna designs and colored with beautiful Indian sari’s. Last winter while I was working on the line I was really in need of the bright and happy colors – so I infused as much deep, saturated color into the group as I could!
The last few school years my oldest daughter has occasionally come home with “henna” on her left hand in ball point pen. During the course of a day she would add to her designs as she was inclined, and when she came home I would ask about her day and curiously inspect the doodles.
While inspecting one day I realized that Henna could be great inspiration for a fabric line. So I began collecting Henna inspiration! Wanderlust has been a few years in the making, and I’m so excited to finally share it with all of you!
Wanderlust Patterns
As with my previous fabric lines, I’ve designed quilt patterns for Wanderlust, and I’m offering kits for each of them this time too!
First up is Bouquet —
Bouquet is a fat quarter quilt mixing all the low volume fabrics in the backgrounds with the bright colors in the flowers. It’s simply pieced, and really fun to make. I have one in progress myself! There’s size options included in the pattern too – I like giving options, just in case you need them.
Frolic —
Frolic is a scrappy and fun quilt made with a Wanderlust Jelly Roll and a couple background prints. I love the simplicity of this quilt, and the functionality too! As with most of my patterns, I’ve included size options that are usable and make sense. If you have two Jelly Rolls, you can make a king size quilt!
Dapper —
Dapper has oversized blocks, and a scrappy (Jelly Roll) border of 9-Patch blocks, a fun mix of modern and traditional in one quilt. The size options for this quilt include more (or less) blocks in the quilt center.
Flare —
Flare is a cool quilt made with four blocks and enough borders to make it a rectangle. I like my toes covered ;) The size options for this quilt include blocks in three different sizes, depending on the desired outcome. It’s not a method that is often used, but I found it to be the best way to offer sizes without changing the integrity of the design.
On Sale This Week
As I mentioned earlier, I’m offering kits, along the with usual printed and PDF patterns for the group. This week the patterns are on sale for $6.00 each, AND you can save 15% on any kit purchase with promo code – WanderlustKit – both are available through August 14.
Do you have a favorite? At this point, I’m thrilled with each for a different reason – but I’d be happy to know what you are drawn to the most in the comments.
Thanks for reading – I hope that you are blessed this week –

The flower bouquet is so fun! Congrats, what a great fabric line and I love the black and white stripe!
Wanderlust is a beauty of a collection! I do love the deep saturated colors and it does remind me of saris and henna! I’m mostly drawn to Frolic. It’s simple and so pleasing to my eye!
Many good wishes to you and your partnership as you begin this new adventure! These bold colors are wonderful and I really like your calendar idea, too! I like scrappy quilts so out of the three patterns I pick Frolic as my fav.
Correction: FOUR patterns! Whew!
Lovely fabric line. I love the prints – especially the detail in the black and white one My favorite pattern is Frolic.
