Week 9

Every week with my #100days seems to be getting better! I’m loving my daily commitment to using scraps and improvising a new unit! You will be glad to know I have sashed and trimmed 24 of the 63 blocks into 12 1/2″ squares, using additional white fabric. My plan is to lay out and sew together a quilt top this week! I have run out of white yardage though, so I need to search my stash and see if I have another piece, or order some more.

What seemed to really click for me this week, is the log cabin. I know! It’s been done so many ways, and keeps being reinterpreted. I love the use of scraps in a few places, adding little pops of color. I think of it as confetti in a quilt block. Adding as much or as little color as I like.

Experimenting with different palettes is fun, as is returning to the original black and white thought that I began the project with.

I hope that you are enjoying seeing the project – I’m definitely enjoying the process.

Happy Quilting – Amy
