Week 5

The act of sitting down and making a little everyday, has been so nice to embrace! So often I spend my days on the computer and don’t get to my sewing machine, but this has forced me to make time. With that I feel more productive on a few other projects as well!

This week I started with a low volume block, with no black, and a few scraps. It’s a nice calming place in the midst of a lot of busyness! I also laid out the blocks and felt generally overwhelmed by the amount of pieces and the chaos. So, I’m going to group the units into pieces that make sense together, then add lots of white to unite the pieces. I think I have 3-4 quilt tops in progress with this project!

Laying out the quilt also reminded me of how much I love log cabin blocks, and I made sure to add more later in the week. Each is so different, and unique!

I’ve also started feeling a bit limited by the black/white, I especially enjoyed the pieces where I eliminated the black fabric this week. Stay tuned for more on that.

Happy Quilting –
