Week 2

This week of improv brought lots of different outcomes. I love the simple patchwork, log cabin type blocks, but curves have also played a big role in my making this week. Experimenting with different cuts, without rulers or templates to ensure their compatibility definitely keeps things interesting!

Some days I used only my black and white fabrics.  Other days were an assembly of scraps from my cutting mat or even the floor under my sewing table. I like the flexibility of using the fabric that I have on hand, in the moment. So many of my project are planned start to end before I even begin cutting the fabric. The freedom in improv quilting could become addicting!

I’m still really enjoying this project! I find myself daydreaming, often, about the next piece of improv. I’d say I’m inspired!

Thanks for following along & Happy Quilting –
