There are a few tried and true ways to make Flying Geese units, but my favorite is the no waste method that I want to share with you here today! If you haven’t made flying geese this way before, it will feel a little odd at first, but when you have a finished set of units it feels like magic!

Follow along for perfect flying geese without any waste, and learn how to scale them to any size in my one-sheet below.

For a set of four matching flying geese units you need one large (5 1/4″) square and four small (2 7/8″) squares, the larger square makes the point in your unit and tends to be the focal fabric.

On the wrong side of the small squares mark the diagonal. Lay two of the small squares across the large square and sew 1/4″ away from both sides of the marked lines.
