Dancing Stars was a quilt along that I started in 2013, I pieced my top over the course of five or six months – which I rarely do – then hung it over a hanger, and waited. I wanted to be sure that I quilted it perfectly, and could not decide on what that would be!

Last week I finally loaded it on the long arm, and went around and around trying to decide before I landed on the orange peel quilting. Which I hope you agree is perfect for this quilt! Here’s a closer look –

If a fabric is repeated in the quilt top, it’s only repeated once – I love the scrappy nature of the quilt! There’s fabrics from pretty much every manufacturer in there, scraps from various book quilts, and a few that I just loved and had to include. Having them all in one place is so special – I plan to cherish this quilt for a long time to come!

The plum purple binding is from my Chic Neutrals line, and I love the soft and simple edge, with the riot of color in the quilt top, it’s a great frame to keep it all in place!
