I spent the last week or so catching up on my pattern and personal responsibilities, with those out the way, I quickly decided it was time for some fun!Fun with Fabric - AmysCreativeSide.com

First I pulled these fabrics, and printed out the paper piecing guide for a feathered star. I’ve been admiring these patterns and wanting to make one for a couple of years now, but didn’t have the right reason to make one.

Sorting out the pieces at this point was a little challenging, then deciding which pieces to put together first was a puzzle. I’m not sure I would do it the same way again, but it did go together pretty quickly.

I worked on it off and on over the course of 18 hours, ignoring my email, and a few other things that could be put off. It still has papers in the back, and feels a little tortured, being a 12″ block with lots of tiny pieces, but I’m so excited to have it together!

My next steps are to add borders, and figure out the best course of action for quilting it! This is being made for my partner in the Quiltcast Mini Quilt Swap – check out #quiltcastminiswap on Instragram for more images from the swap.
