Hey! Did you have a good weekend? Winter returned to our mountains, and we’ve been indoors all weekend. While a little crazy with four kids inside, I did have a chance to sew – which helps me to cope!
I received an advance bundle of Mark Cesarik’s next line, Cosmic Burst, and decided that I needed a mini of my own. I marked and made 160 tiny HST units. Thankfully Ella was bored enough to help me press most of them!
Later, Owen helped me layout the units, and a few squares.
I worked on sewing them into a top at a couple different points over the weekend, then quickly decided how to quilt it.
I marked the top and got started, but hope to finish quilting today. It measures 21″ square, each HST unit is 1 1/2″ finished – so adorable! I’m thinking it will be a throw pillow, we can always use more around here.
Fabrics:
Cosmic Burst ships mid April, and is full of great color!
More soon ~ Amy
What fun to receive a new bundle of fabric! Love the colors in that line. :)
That is beautiful, vibrant fabric! I also like the weave of the fabric. Can’t wait to see the finished product :)
Cosmic Burst looks so exciting!!!! I love the hsts and the Star Wars jammies :o) Looking forward to seeing the finished pillow/mini!
I’ve had fun playing with that fabric too!
A little weekend sewing therapy is always a good thing, especially when the weather outside is wintery.
Can’t wait to see the finished project. The colors are fun!
Have a great day,
Always, Queenie
i really like that it will make a beautiful pillow
Cute, cute, cute…love that you had helpers!

What did you mark your quilting guidelines with? They’re blue!
Love the colors!
Love the color riot in your pillow! So much fun – color cheers me up. I have a pic of my “spring dream” quilt. I’ve only got it half way done but it’s coming along. Snow outside but it’s spring in my heart :) Ok – guess I don’t know how to post a pic – oh well – trust me- it’s cute. ;)
