I have a new book to share with you today, just released yesterday!  I had the pleasure of “meeting” Melissa Ramirez a couple months ago, when she offered me a copy of her new book – Pleating for Mercy: A Magical Dressmaking Mystery.

Do I have your attention yet?

This is a fun read with plenty of sewing included!  While this isn’t usually a requirement for my reading – it is a fun addition.

Harlow Cassidy returns to the home of her recently passed away great-grandmother after 15 years away from Bliss, Texas.  She’s been fully immersed in the fashion industry in New York, but her inheritance (great-grandmothers home) draws her back to open a dressmakers shop, in said home.

With her first client comes a lot more than just dresses. There’s the bit about her family having special, magical gifts, and a crime on her front lawn. Harlow works hard to make the needed dresses, and clear her friends name, learning a lot about the town, and people she grew up with along the way.

Pleating for Mercy is an engaging novel!  It kept me up late, wanting to know how all the details worked out in the end, and making sure my favorite characters were as friendly as I had imagined.  I loved how fabric was woven into each part of the story, as the characters weave their own tale.

You can visit Melissa to read an excerpt, or get a copy on Amazon, it’s also available as an ebook, to add to your reader right away!

I hope you are as intrigued as I was – I can’t wait for the next book now!
