Giveaway Day!

Happy Giveaway Day!

Thanks for stopping by!  If you are a new visitor please feel free to poke around a bit and get to know me.  I’m Amy —  a wife, mom to 4, sewist, soon to be author, conference planner, and I love keeping up with my friends here!

I’m giving away this Hunky Dory layer cake:

Layer Cake = 42 coordinating 10″ squares.

To win-

1 – Leave me a comment, I would love to know what projects you are finishing up before Christmas.

2 – Subscribe or follow my blog, or let me know that you already do.

3 – Like Amy’s Creative Side on Facebook

Each comment is an entry to the giveaway, be sure to get them all in to improve your chances.

——

I have been working on a number of small quilt projects for gifts, I’m planning a big post for after Christmas to share with all of you, however, I have come to realize I can’t keep every quilt that I make!  Every bed has at least one quilt on it, and I have a pile of quilts about 4 feet tall in my room.  Time to clear a few, that I can, out!

Do you need one more gift?  I have 5 quilts for sale (at great prices too!) that I will ship via UPS to ensure you will have it in time for Christmas.  Check them out in my new Meylah shop!

Winner will be announced this weekend – good luck!

Amy

I have also been asked to make a tote bag with a raccoon on it for a lady at church to give to her daughter for Christmas. Less than two weeks, better get myself in gear.

I am working on a quilt for my teenage daughter in colors she likes (that I don’t). It’s basted, I just need to quilt and bind it! I am teaching my 13 year old to make potholders, and my 11 year old to fancy up some kitchen towels, as gifts for their step-mom. And I’m making a small wall hanging for my mom. And a small bag for my daughter to carry her scriptures to church in. And that’s it, unless I find something quick I can make for anyone else before Christmas! :)

Before Christmas I’m finishing up library bags for my two little nephews. With their names included! My sister in law seems to think that I can break into the racket their primary school has on them.

$45 for a plain bag with their name in puffy paint, highway robbery!

    Hi!

I’m actually finished with my before Christmas projects. Well, I have two projects that I’m working on, but they won’t be ready in time for Christmas, so they’re for next Christmas: painting a nativity set and hand embroidering an advent calendar.

Thanks for the giveaway, great fabrics! I’m still a new-ish quilter, so I don’t trust my skills yet to use any of my projects as gifts yet, so I’m just working on a couple of small pieces for myself, one being the Le Petite project for the month.

Love layer cakes – they’re such a handy size. I’m working on a paper-pieced calendar quilt. Originally should have been a wall hanging, but my daughter wanted it as a lap quilt. At the rate I’m going, she may not be getting it for Christmas. Her birthday is in March, so she may just get it then. dmj53(at)hotmail(dot)com

I would love to win this! I am unable to do sewing right now and am so frustrated! Had surgery on my hands and one is in a cast and can’t be used for 7 weeks and the other one is now out of the cast but in a brace. Makes sewing hard and I usually make all my gifts. This giveaway would be encouraging as well as give me something to work on as soon as my hands are freed from their “jail”!

I have several things I need to finish before Christmas: a pillowcase and superhero cape for a local 3 year old boy who has been diagnosed with leukemia and will be spending Christmas in hospital, a knitting bag and table napkins for Mom, yoga mat bag samples for a new retailer, a flex frame coin purse and zippered pouches.

That looks like a fabulous layer cake…I’m sure the other fabrics in my stash would love to meet it ;o) I also find it very hard to part with my quilts – I have no problem if it was always intended for someone else but the quilts I make because I love to stitch tend to stay with me!

    Thanks for the giveaway!

oh, that layer cake is so darling!! i’m sure i need it!! madly trying to finish a few more projects for Christmas…a darling giraffe doll that i started about 15 years ago and not sure who’s going to get it, yet; finally getting to quilting the kaffe pickle dish quilt–quilting by machine with decorating stitches on major seams, then will work over the next while doing some handstitching with pearl cotton; finishing up some aprons out of pure by sweetwater; trying to figure out a pirate flag for my oldest grandsons before the holidays; and needing to sandwich and then quilt my version of your quilt along to give away…think that’s it for the sewing part of my life.
